Capitola's Esplanade already honors a male surfer. This project adds a woman, completing the story of a community rooted in surf culture.

Designed with an advisory council of local women

Inspired by those who simply love the sea

At the Heart of the Esplanade

Proposed Location

Sited alongside the existing surfer statue, facing the ocean, where locals and visitors gather every day.

The location ensures she stands where the waves meet the village, visible and celebrated by all.
